A Present and A Dilemma
I love that the 4th generation's got two cameras [front and back] that both can take HD quality videos and pretty decent photos [depending on the light]. The 32Gb storage is enough for me although it's also available in 64Gb.
There's a catch though. We found out that the new iPod Touch is not compatible with the Tiger OS of my macbook as it uses iTunes 10 [Tiger OS can get up to iTunes 9 only]. I don't want to give up the Comic Life application which is not available in Leopard and Snow Leopard [I must purchase it seperately]. There's also a news going around geekland that Apple's releasing the new OS, Lion, in a few months.
So I guess patience, patience, patience for now. :)

Another STOLEN Macbook Pro!
[Source]
Please feel free to repost in facebook or twitter.
Sometimes we think we are being vigilant enough. I also realized it is okay to be paranoid at times.
My brother's (Angelo) MacBook Pro was stolen last Saturday, 22nd of January 2011. Around 12nn in our office by a man who was pretending he was to inquire about our wedding rates for his son. My brother wasn't even around when this happened. He was working in PICC Forum where we had a booth for a bridal fair.
Here are the details of my brother's stolen laptop:
UNIT: MacBoook Pro (15inches)
OWNER: Angelo Luise C. Maniquis
SERIAL NUMBER: W88341fcyjx
I know there's a very slim chance for us to locate the laptop, but we'll try. There's no harm in doing so anyway. My brother is a very hard-working and talented artist who deserves the all the best in the field he has chosen and it really breaks my heart to see him right now, MacBook Pro-less. And it's not like as if we bought it cold cash. It's hard earned money. If you could just imagine the things my parents had to sacrifice.
If ever you encounter anyone selling you a MacBook Pro, please check the serial number. It just might be my brother's.
Just in case, here are my (Antonette Maniquis) contact details:
MOBILE: 0917-8890123
LANDLINE: 4114390
EMAIL: antonettemaniquis@gmail.com
Please feel free to repost this note or the details in your Facebook or Twitter accounts. Thank you in advance!
To the man who stole the laptop, we've learned our lesson already. It's time to learn yours. Ingat ka na lang. :))

Fuji Finepix Z33 - One of My Simple Needs
When I bought the Samsung L73 more than two years ago, I relied much on the online reviews and ratings about it.
I got it from ebay as this particular model wasn't released here (not sure if it's available in any country in Asia) and a student from the US is selling it brand new for only Php7,500 which I found a lot cheaper than Canon and Sony digicams (more than Php15K at that time). Darlyn and I needed a handy digicam for our week-long Boracay trip and I need to buy myself a birthday gift so it was really a perfect timing. I never had any regret in buying the Samsung L73, it's really very useful for the past two years so when the time came that it needed to retire, I've been having a hard time finding a replacement. This search's top priority: waterproof digital camera for beach trips. I am not into bulky DSLR's that's really in right now so I focused the search on these things I needed to consider:
1. AFFORDABLE - limited budget as we need to prepare for the baby
2. COMPACT - it should fit my pocket or a small handbag
3. USER-FRIENDLY - I'm not familiar with the photographer's jargon :p
4. SLEEK AND available in PINK and/or BLACK
At some point, I had second thoughts about the Samsung WP10 because I wanted to try a different brand. I was traumatized by the 'lines' that started appearing before the Samsung L73 completely broke down. Canon D10 came to my mind but I find all the Powershot models just too bulky for me plus this model doesn't have any other color.
I also considered the Olympus Stylus 850 even if the one being sold is second-hand but for some reason, I didn't get any response from the ebay seller. :(
Finally, the Fuji Finepix Z33 won. Everything in my checklist was met and the seller's really prompt to reply so I didn't have any trouble dealing with her.
I found the interface a little old-school but it didn't matter. Can't wait to go out of town! hehe ;)
